Object of the game:
Use your playing piece to follow the path, using Ladders to
help you progress, and avoid the Snakes which will send you down the board. The
first player to reach the Golden Key is the winner!
Setting up:
Assemble all the 3D parts by matching the shapes of the 3D
elements to those on the board, e.g. small rectangle on 3D element fixes with
the small rectangle hole on the board.
There are also 4 bases that go under the ladders to enable
tilting. The bases have to be snapped into the board. This is done by following
the position of the holes. Ladders are then snapped into the top of the bases.
The Haystack is snapped in covering the ends of the short Ladder and the long
Snake.
Playing the Game:
Each player selects a coloured playing piece and places it on
the start position, next to the Wizard. Each player throws the die. The player
with the highest number begins. On their turn, players throw the die and move
their playing piece according to the number of spaces indicated. Always move
along the path in the direction indicated by the direction arrows. If you land
on a space already occupied, you must jump over to the next available space. If
the playing piece lands at the bottom of a Ladder, you must climb to the top by
tilting the Ladder, where necessary. You always move up a Ladder. If your
playing piece lands at the top of a Ladder, you stay there until your next
move, then continue along the path. If the playing piece lands on the head of a
Snake, you must slide down to the bottom. Resuming your route along the path
from this point. When following the path around the Wind Vane, try and avoid
the marked yellow arrow spots. If the playing piece lands on one of these
spaces it must be moved inside the Wind Vane and spun. When the Vane stops, the
playing piece should be placed back on the path on the space nearest to its
final position. When you land on a marked yellow arrow spot next to the
Haystack, the playing piece is removed and placed into the hole in the center
of the Haystack. The outcome can either help or hinder the player.
Winning the Game:
The first player to reach the end of the path and claim the
Golden key is the winner!
